  • This is a difficult review to leave, because most things about Midwood (especially the food) deserve 5 stars. The quality of the barbecue vies for 1st place in all of Charlotte every time I eat there, the local beer list is long, and the service is generally solid too. However, over time, portions have steadily decreased. The last two times, I didn't get anything near what would reasonably be expected for the price I paid. I can go to any competitor at this point and get more food for less money, and the quality will be just as good. Needless to say, I won't be heading back to Midwood any time soon. The quality of flavor alone isn't worth another sparse combo plate that maybe has 3/4 the amount of 'cue that it should, and only leaves me disappointed.
