  • This place creates good imaginative food. However our server, a heavily tattooed charming fellow, did not serve us well. The limited but spectacular menu is organized into three sections. There is a wonderful appetizer, salad, small plates section, a shareable vegetable section, and an entree section with only four choices. All spectacular. I asked my our server if would be appropriate to share one of each course between my very petite wife and myself? We were two couples sharing a nice table. He highly recommended that we each order an entree and a starter and split only a vegetable per couple. We each shared an appetizer (fabulous chicken spring rolls), shared a vegetable (one couple ordered the cauliflower and the other Brussel sprouts - both great), then we each ordered our own entree. Two chickens, goulash, and swordfish were ordered and enjoyed immensely. However neither couple could finish more than a third of the vegetables ordered and more then half of the sizable entrees were boxed up. The food is good enough that we will enjoy our reheated lunches, but when I go to a new (to me) upscale restaurant I would prefer to try more smaller portions and less massive servings. This server didn't understand my goal or was too focused on increasing the check size to care. Perhaps we put him off when we ordered wine by the glass! It was a Wednesday so not polishing off several bottles of wine seemed reasonable. The fact that he disappeared as soon as the food began coming out and I had to ask a busboy to retrieve our bill makes me think he was just padding our check. We will never come back and we eat out 3-5 nights a week in the Phoenix area. The restaurant takes its food seriously. They should focus a little more on the total dining experience. Frankly, I would have preferred to order half a dozen starters, one vegetable, and one or two entrees for the four of us.
