| - Although somewhat hidden off of a bustling Park Road, this little independent coffee shop is a refreshing alternative to the army of Starbucks that dominate the area. The coffee selections are plentiful, and the large Caramel Coffee Shake that I ordered was tasty and reasonably priced at $4.49; however, the best thing about this place is its roomy, comfortable seating area that includes leather couches and chairs facing a wall mounted HDTV along with plenty of well-spaced tables. The late Tuesday morning that I visited, for the first time, nearly half of the seating was occupied by a diverse mix of patrons (all mesmerized, of course, by their electronic devices).
Some food items such as muffins, cookies, brownies and bagel sandwiches are available. I tried a chocolate chip cookie that was just okay. My friend had a Mocha Latte and was pleased with it.
The sole employee frantically, yet efficiently, filled coffee orders and was as friendly as he had time to be. It did concern me though to see him handle a bagel with ungloved and unwashed hands after collecting a customer's cash, but I admire his diligence in waiting on the six or so of us in line. Other than that, the overall sanitary score was an impressive 99, and I agree with the majority of Yelpers in that this place is worth a try.
