| - I've been Rockstar twice now, and I have to say that despite the issues my first time around, I really like this place!!
So, my first visit:
I went in to Rockstar Nails one day after not just cracking but actually breaking two of my powder dipped nails from my last mani. They were not only open but were able to take my last minute appointment on a Saturday afternoon, thankfully!!
The lady who did my nails was extremely nice and friendly, but she didn't have much experience doing SNS powder dips. She only did 2 dips total, both of the color, rather than 2 dips in color and 1 dip in clear coat. My result was that my nails weren't as thick or strong as usual and unfortunately two of my nails had cracked within a few days.
My second visit:
I went back to have them fix my nails since they only lasted a few days. This time, the owner (I think?) did my nails. I was only looking to have the 2 nails that cracked be fixed, but she redid all my nails. She did an amazing job! It's been 3 weeks now, and my nails haven't cracked or lifted at all (the best perks of getting powder dip nails!)
So the shop itself is really nice. The walls are painted soothing blue colors that just make the space seem extra welcoming and nice. The have several a bunch of pedi stations and mani stations as well as a huge selection of standard nail polish. They don't have too many choices for SNS or powder dip colors, but it's still so new that I'm finding many places don't have the demand for more options yet.
My two issues were having a powder dip done by someone who didn't have much experience and the price. I know powder dips are more expensive, which I totally expect, but for a standard powder dip, they charge $40 or $50 for a powder dip with mani. At other salons I've been to, I've gotten a basic mani with powder dip for $40.
Overall, I really like Rockstar Nails and I definitely recommend it! It's a little out of the way for me, but I like it enough that I will be back!
