My cousin brought me a gift a few weeks ago from Nordstrom Rack. I live in Las Vegas. This shirt didn't fit and while labeled medium was clearly a small. I tried everything to get the shirt to fit including taking the tags off as I didn't want to disappoint my female cousin. I went to return the item at the new Nordstrom Rack in downtown Summerlih here in Las Vegas; the line was well over 1/2 hour, so I left disappointed. I told them that I'm disabled and can't wait 1/2 hour. They didn't care and I didn't want to jump in front of people, thought it was inappropriate. Last week I went to the store again and finally found a shirt that fit (the quality of the men's cloths in my opinion is extremely poor). I got on the long line again only to be told by a supervisor that since I took the tags off, they wouldn't except the return or allow an exchange. What an absurd policy, I had the tags that clearly indicated it was purchased at Nordstrom Rack. There was nothing wrong with the shirt. In my entire life, I never had an exchange denied with the tags. My cousin unfortunately didn't give me the receipt which likely wouldn't have helped anyway based on their policy. I am a former college professor of marketing and have significant expertise in retail. This new store in Las Vegas is extremely undermanned, has the worst customer service I have ever experienced and poor price quality for the merchandise. I will never shop in this store again in my life and would not recommend it to anyone. And this is not the only complaint about the terrible customer service in this new store. Essentially, Nordstrom Rack is barely a step up in quality over Ross with far worse customer service. Who in their write mind would waste their time there. A small Gap store for example, has far more staff, all are trained and courteous, than this Nordstrom Rack nightmare store.
