| - Nando's can't decide what it wants to be. Part cafeteria, part fast food, part sit-down restaurant, Nando's offers cafeteria-quality food at restaurant prices served in a fast-food atmosphere. The service was quite poor - parts of our order were forgotten, and we had to ask not once but twice to get it. Since they have no servers (remember, it is only part-restaurant) we had to get up ourselves each time. But since everything is in the back (remember, it is part-restaurant) we couldn't get it ourselves - we were told to sit down and wait.
The portions were small, especially for restaurant prices. They charge $6.50 for a "large" plate of French Fries - they don't stack them on the plate, so it's a flat plate of cheap McCain fries (or similar) for that price. They could at least serve fries made in-house.
The chicken is fine, competently cooked, but at $17 for a whole chicken I expect more than that. The wraps and sandwiches are $6-7 for a small piece of chicken. There is nothing special - they take some lettuce and sauce, add a small bit of chicken and slap it in a wrap/bun.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. It reminded me of my high school cafeteria, but it cost 2x as much.
