| - So I have scale for Ethiopian restaurants that goes from sanitary but bland to authentic but might give me hepatitis. Of the places in town, this strikes the optimum balance. If you are primarily concerned with the restaurant inspector score, this is not the place for you. Kind of smoky from the hookah bar next door and from the burnt coffee, and not particularly current decorations. But if your focus is on the food, here it is delicious and plentiful. Servers or owners are delightful and very generous. I always get the veggie platter with 6 different things (cabbage--my favorite, two different lentils--yellow is mild and brown is spicy, collards, potatoes, green beans, and salad) and all of them delicious. If you express liking something, expect them to bring you more of it, including injera. Since 2 of our party got there earlier than the other 3, we got to chat and they brought us samples of the honey wine. They don't have Ethiopian/Eretrean beers, but would like to. We also got the lentil sambosa to start and they were flavorful and a little spicy. Have never seen a crowd in the restaurant and it is in a sketchy strip mall next to a Tejano/polka bar, so it's a little noisy, but I still think of it first in town for Ethiopian.
