We have been to The Mission several times.
The salsa has a nice smoky flavor to it and it just thick enough so stay on the tortilla chips.
We usually order the pork shoulder taco platter which comes with all the fixings to make ten miniature tacos with. $32.00
The pork shoulder is served more room temperature, so if you want it hot I recommend you ask for it to be heated prior to serving.
For two people one order is plenty, therefore, if you like guacamole (and they make it table side how you like it there), you may find it a stretch to finish the taco platter.
Table side Guacamole: $12.00
It can get noisy at The Mission, so if you are going to an intimate meal or a dinner meeting I do not recommend it.
This is a great place to grab lunch or a Margarita at dinner after enjoying Old Town. There is a lot of history at the restaurant so it is worth exploring that prior to going so you can appreciate what you are seeing or a part of when you are there.
Tables are small is one of my complaints. The serving dishes they use for their menu items wind up being crammed onto the table leaving little room for a cocktail and a glass of water making the meal less enjoyable.
If you make a reservation after six or so plan on being seated late. We have never been seated on time.
