Hubby and I were given free show tix for our latest visit so we were pretty bummed when we realized La Reve was dark for the week. We were offered Showstoppers and really went into it with low expectations, not knowing was it was about.
However, we perked up as we sat and read through the program, noting it was show tunes. Hubby loves show tunes and I'm a fan as well. Ok...so here's to it not sucking. Fingers crossed!
And you know what - it was so fun! Ok, so the main guy was a little cheesy but they were definitely going for the old-timey vibe so yeah...
Lots of great numbers....and there wasn't a step or note out of place as far as I could tell. My faves were the crazy Cabaret bits and the Cell Block Tango.
The theater itself was small (great for viewing) but the seats were quite cramped (not so great for comfort) but we managed, especially when I was sitting at the edge of my seat for much of the 1.5 hr show.
A lot of people were in line for concessions so we decided to skip that (like I said, it was only 1.5hrs) and head for our seats.
Great sets, great performances...definitely something worth watching.
