| - So, I took my teens here for an ATV experience and we had a good time. I think we just had a few things go wrong that didn't give us the 5 star experience. For starters, a group of people going our tour were really late arriving to our pick up spot and that put us a bit behind. Once we got there we were given the rules and because of my kid's ages, they could not drive their own and we were driven by a young guy that looked just barely old enough to drive which made me a bit nervous. I was even more unnerved when he kept checking his phone. Mind you, we are driving over boulders, and racing over sand and he could not stop checking his phone. At one point, I even said, "I'm going to have to take your phone away like I do with my own kids." It didn't even phase him. I was more afraid of crashing while he was looking at his phone than I was during the entire "adrenaline" tour. He was a very nice kid, he really was, but if I have to be honest, that just wasn't professional. Check your phone on your own time. And I probably wouldn't mention it, if it were just once or twice, it was multiple times.
On a different note, it appeared to us that one of the girls on the tour was driving recklessly and flipped her ATV, our young guide was EXTREMELY responsive. He noticed right away that she was not following behind, and he whipped around to figure out where she was. When we arrived on scene the buggy was on her arm and he lifted the buggy off of her at the expense of his back. He really did a great job responding and getting to the scene quickly. This accident did cause a huge delay though. Once another buggy arrived on scene to pick her up we resumed the tour. We had a Subway lunch and drove back to the ranch. All in all our experience was just okay. It wasn't as adrenaline filled as I had hoped, maybe if I were driving my own it would have been. I will keep that in mind should I ever try to do it again.
Notes:
1. If you wear glasses, just use your glasses don't wear the goggles, because with the helmet they were super uncomfortable, so I ended up taking off my goggles and just using my own glasses.
2. Bring baby wipes or a bandana because it gets really dusty, and when you stop for lunch there aren't bathrooms/port a potties around, so you don't have anything to clean your hands with.
3. Pee beforehand, it is about a 3 hour tour.
4. Have cash on hand to tip your drivers at the end.
