| - For the past ~1.5 years, I've drooled every time I drove/ran/biked past Flywheel in Cotswold. I really wanted to give it a try because it's so close to my house and I love spinning at the YMCA, but my frugality got the best of me. Thanks to the fabulous Nikki W., there was a Yelp event at Flywheel this past spring and I got to try Flywheel class for FREE! After one class, I was hooked!!!
First, the room is nice and COOOLLLLDDD (as in bring a jacket for the start of class, you'll seriously need it) which is super refreshing during an intense spinning session. Second, I was pleased to find out I could use the same cleats I use for my road bike on their stationary bikes... oh, and Flywheel's stationary bikes spin laps around the ones at the YMCA. Third, the instructors are all super motivating, play great music, and are in amazing shape (they're all my heroes). Lastly, the other Flywheel participants have been very welcoming -I was nervous there would be a bit of a snooty vibe, but everyone I've met has been friendly and willing to lend a helping hand when I couldn't get my handle bars to adjust, forgot my locker combination (so embarrassing), or was my general awkward self.
I now go to Flywheel ~1x per week using Class Pass. I'm still a miser, so Class Pass gives me the opportunity to get three visits to Flywheel, along with 3 classes to several other boutique gyms in the Charlotte area, per month. I hope to one day upgrade from Class Pass to a full Flywheel membership because 1 class a week just isn't enough -I'm addicted.
Give it a try; if you're like me you'll kick yourself for not trying Flywheel sooner!
