I recently joined this LA fitness using silver sneakers. I am a disabled Vietnam vet. I am mobile and receiving Rx thru VA for agent orange issues. I am trying to improve my fitness. I like the facility. Well equipped. Fitness classes favor young healthy members. Trainers are available and I wanted to utilize them on a schedule that fit my schedule. I resented being "hot-boxed" and don't understand their policy about needing to sign up for a 6 month plan or a one year plan. With uncertainty about my health issues and travel plans to try to get out of AZ during part of the summer I am unable to commit to their strict policy of 6 or 12 month commitment. When I questioned their policy their response was sorry your sol. That's the only way we offer trainers. When this facility was a Bally's many years ago I remember buying a package of sessions and not a long term commitment. At my age and with health issues I can only plan 2-3 months at a time. If LAF wants to embrace the Silver Sneakers members they need to review and change their policy. For now I'll use their facility but unable to utilize their trainers.
