| - TLDR: AYCE available, unassigned wait staff, drinks not included.
Yama Sushi is located in a strip mall, but the interior definitely does not match the exterior appearance. The staff is identified not by names, but by numbers evidenced by their blue pins. I have never had to ask for my drinks to be refilled as the wait staff is excellent. This is one of the few restaurants that presents a donburi, even if it is a commercially prepackaged wipe. Their fish is acceptable, but nothing exciting stands out.
Appetizers are pretty consistent and plentiful. Their agedashi tofu is unusually fried and not pleasant to enjoy. They have salmon and hamachi kama which is large, but not the best quality. On the two occasions which I've dined, the appetizers came at the same time as the sushi and rolls, even though they are ordered at the same time.
I tried the Ellen roll, the only roll that is limited to one per person. It is wrapped in green soy paper and with plenty of fish. It's not worth it, in my opinion. Stick with the nigiri and sushi. They say that rice is supposed to define the quality of the sushi, and not just the fish. In my opinion, the sushi rice leaves much to be desired.
I would come back, although it would have be on a different occasion.
