I really wanted to like this place!
Walked in and was immediately transported back to Woodbury, New Jersey! Smells exactly like a NJ diner! Made me smile & homesick all at once! Hostess greeted/seated us with a warm greeting!
Place was fairly full, but we were seated right away. It's a good sign for a Wednesday morning!
Pot-o-bread - Was expecting a typical fresh, doughy bread like you'd get at dinner. However, it was a like a light, moist pastry type "bread", which was a perfect side for breakfast. Don't hesitate to try it for fear of filling up before the main course!
Belgium Waffle & fruit & coffee - I got the half order. My honest opinion is that I've had better Belgium waffles. This one had good flavor, but it was unusually thin for a Belgium and surprisingly "tough" to cut with a fork.
Signature omelet w/well done hash browns, ice water- the husband got this for breakfast. He specifically requested "well done" hash browns. What he got, tho, were actually lightly browned & under cooked. He was not happy. He scraped off the sauce on top of the omelette as he said it has way too much tarragon and the consistency was "gelatinous". He said the actual omelette had little flavor and he had to douse it in hot sauce.
The bill was under $20. Fair for the amount of food.
