I wanted to donate as a first timer today, I came in at 6am went through their process with watching a movie, answering their questionnaire and once it was time for a physical I got deferred. The trainee and supervisor both checked my lymph nodes and told me since it's cold season even though I don't show any signs of being sick my body might be fighting something and they didn't want to risk it so she said to come back in a week. While waiting after I got deferred I went ahead and looked up how to check your lymph nodes and online "Usually lymph nodes are not enlarged and thus cannot be felt. The exception is that in slim people it is normal to be able to feel one or two small painless groin lymph nodes on both sides." I should've told that to the nurse but by her being flustered with the line she wasn't going to have it. I guess patience is not virtue.
