  • Years ago, I remembered asking my hubby (boyfriend at the time) if he wanted to visit the Neon Museum on one of our visits to Vegas, and he thought it could be "kitschy". But, lol, as we get older, we find ourselves finding these sorts of things endearing. So, we decided to try this out this year. I bought our tickets online, and, once I had confirmation, we were good to go! On the actual reserved day, we went through the front doors, told them our names, got our wristbands, and they directed us into the Neon Museum gift shop. I do not think you can come here day of to try and book a reservation. At the gift shop, everything is, of course, Neon Museum-themed, or older-Vegas-period-themed when neon signs were super popular. As we arrived 15 minutes early (per Neon Museum's request), there was a small waiting room that we could sit at before our tour started. Once the tour started, we went through the waiting room's doors and started through one end of the Neon Museum with the tourguide. As a note (and the Neon Museum's website will state this), you cannot be in the Neon Museum without a guide. All tours require a guide. That being said, we had a great tour guide who gave a lot of history, tips, and amusing notes of each sign that was a focus of the tour. She was funny, witty, intelligent, and was able to make facts understandable. I think it also helped that the group was a little older (I think hubby, myself, and a group of college girls were the youngest in the group of 20), so we understood a lot of references that would have flown pass a kid's head. The signs that were able to be lit up were very cool, and even those just illuminated by nearby lights were well-lit enough for us to be able to see good details. I do see the charm of coming here for a night tour (which is what we did), and we enjoyed it immensely. I'm intrigued on how it would be like during the day tours to be able to fully see some details on the neon signs. Regardless, we'll be back. Loved all of the historical tidbits!
