  • This is a tale of two stores (with as you can see from my rating ,an ultimately bad ending).... To give a little background - I was married in Cleveland, but do not live there and ended up ordering the dress in Cleveland (my mom lives there, so it made sense). When I originally went in to the store, it was around Thanksgiving, 2013 shopping for my May, 2014 wedding. Apparently in bridal dress world this is extremely late. I honestly didn't feel like looking prior to that. I was so excited to walk into the Perfect Bride and for the first time after being at 5 other stores, and not be told "What, why did you wait so long?" when I said that my wedding was 6 months away. I had a good appointment and liked Suzy my consultant quite a bit. I found a dress that I liked and was told that it would be best if I ordered it in extra length (I'm 6' tall. The dress I tried on was long enough, but barely). The consultants said that dresses tend to stretch in length from hanging and from being tried on and also that they cannot guarantee the length of the dress, as it is not always the same. We didn't think I needed it, but they insisted. I had one more appointment, so left without ordering it. I ended up going back a few days later as I did not find anything I liked at the other store. We ordered it and I was told that I should be able to try it in early March, when I came back for my bridal shower. (We did order the extra length, which was $50 btw, so not bad) I went back home, assuming everything was great until I got a call from my mom a few days later telling me that P.B. had called her and that as it had turned out, the dress did NOT come in extra length. I called back myself to see what I should do and was told that I would be fine and did not need the extended length. The dress fit and I would be ok with the regular length. After deciding to order the dress anyway, I hung up and it hit me that the only reason I ordered the additional length is b/c they were insisting I needed it. Odd that all of the sudden I did not. (I hadn't shrunk in that time) Fast forward a few months to March when I called to see if my dress would be in on time for me to try it on when I was in town for my shower. First off, they had no idea who I was. I spoke to my consultant (the one whom I spent all the time with trying on dresses 3 months earlier) and even when I gave her my name you could tell she did not recall me at all. (I'm sorry, but this is a big investment and I find it hard to believe that they are selling SO many dresses every day that they cannot keep their customers straight. It's not a David's) She said she would have to look into it and call me back. Someone else called me back (I believe the owner) to say they couldn't find my order. We went over my information again and it turned out that my consultant had wrote down my name incorrectly, so that is why they couldn't find it but that the order had been placed and it would be in, in May. At this point I got a little upset... How did we go from me being able to try it on in March to the chance it wouldn't be in on time for my May wedding? When I reminded the woman that I had been told by them the dress would arrive in March, she acted like I was nuts and that it was not possible. I also had to tell her when my wedding date was (you'd think they would have that information in my file) and that I needed the dress to be in no later than the last week of April as I was planning to wear it the first weekend in May. The dress ended up arriving in mid-April, but I wasn't going to be in town until the week before my wedding, but they said it wouldn't be an issue to have alterations done in time. (the cost of alterations are built into the price of the dress FYI) I ended up trying it on the Wednesday before my wedding. I walked in and saw the owner and my consultant, neither of whom seemed to recognize me even after seeing my face. This surprised me as I thought I should have at least looked vaguely familiar to someone at the store. It needed some alterations, which were taken care of (and the woman did a really great job!) and the dress was pressed and ready to go the day before. So the story ends well, but I would not recommend going there. Perhaps to try on, but not to buy. Along with everything else, the owner is condescending in her tone and actions. And I'm not a fan of places that tell you what they think you want to hear in order to make a sale. I really liked my consultant when dealing with her, but was surprised that she was completely unable to remember who I was. I guess this really doesn't matter as long as the dress fits and you get what you want - but it left a bad taste in my mouth.
