  • We all know that buffet reviews can be inconsistent, depending on a multitude of factors. Not everyone eats at the same time, not everyone waits in a long line, not everyone pays the same price, not everyone eats the same thing, and not everyone has the same tastes in food. And not everyone tasted ostrich before. Strangely, the way it was prepared and cooked, it tasted just like chashu BBQ pork. So it was pretty tasty, but I couldn't help but have a mental image of an ostrich with his head buried in the ground. I'm not the biggest fan of prime rib, but I loved it here. It was tender, juicy, and super flavorful. Put some baby mushrooms with the au jus sauce on top, it had me coming back for more. Even when my stomach was about to explode. The crab legs? I'm always apprehensive because they are the epitome of inconsistency in buffets. They could either still be semi-frozen and not entirely thawed out, they could be too salty, they could have some funky fishy flavor, or they could be skimpy on size and meat. Here, during my recent visit, everything was spot on. Other favorites include the chilean seabass, salmon, and the braised beef. Nothing I tried was overcooked or bland. When it came time for dessert, I didn't hold back. My favorites would be the creme brulee, flan, mousse with apricot, and the chocolate covered strawberries. Surprisingly, the line around 5:30pm on a Saturday night was not very long. It was only after we left around 7pm that it snaked around the casino floor. I thought for the quality and quantity of food we ate, $35 per person was a bargain. By far, better than the Wynn buffet on my last visit, or any other buffet on the Strip for that matter. IMHO. Of course, let's hope things are this good in my next visit. Because there's not a worse feeling than paying good money for bad food. Who knows, maybe we just got lucky this time around. Sometimes, you just hit the jackpot of buffet-eating experiences.
