  • I've had my eye on Luci's for a long time, but never made it out this way because it's just a touch too far from my house for breakfast. But, crashing in Phoenix for a while, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to check it out. We came here on a Saturday morning around 9, and there was no wait to order or for a table. I had the egg sammie, with cheddar and sausage on an Asiago bagel. I was looking for something pretty simple and no frills, but this sandwich was amazing. I had prepared myself for a big ole mess, like most breakfast sandwiches are--especially on a bagel. But the sausage and cheese were folded into the egg, frittata-style, which made for very handy eating. Also... no joke, this was the best bagel I've had in the state of Arizona. It was dense, in a great bagely way, but somehow very soft even though it was toasted. And it even reheated well! The guy is going through an ultra-health kick, so he opted for an açaí bowl. It was very tasty, but I think could've been just a touch more frozen/less runny. Also just a touch pricey, but I guess açaí bowls usually are. We both had mimosas, because how can you turn them down then they're $3? I certainly don't have that kind of willpower. They were a touch sweeter than I like, but I fully acknowledge that when I make my own mimosas, they're 96% champagne with 4% juice. And definitely not bad at all for $3. My favorite part of Luci's for sure were all of the little knick knacks to peruse while you're waiting. Lots of fun AZ things and things no one needs, aka the best things to look through always. Midway through our meal, we started planning our next trip back. How could we not, when there are so many tasty-sounding menu items to try? :)
