| - I was very excited to purchase for my wife what appeared to be a GREAT deal via LivingSocial for what I had heard to be one of the premier salons in the Charlotte area. As a stay-at-home mom of 3 kids, all under 6, she sure deserves a little pampering. I upgraded the basic offering and pre-paid $130 for an hour-long massage, hour-long facial and a full mani-pedi; a very good value. However, with more than 2 weeks before the expiration of the deal my wife called to book her appointment and was told that there was NO room remaining for these deals. Not only that, but she was told that they have been booked for these deals for more than 2 months. But what we COULD do is apply that $130 to regular priced services and get far, far less for our money. In other words, they pulled a bait and switch. They would not honor the original offer, they would not extend the expiration date and they would not initially allow my wife to speak to a manager. One may still call us back, but when that happens we will tell them that LivingSocial kindly refunded the money because we did not feel comfortable giving money to an operation so willing to bait and switch via a deals-based website. I am sure we would have been more than happy to return for more business, and pay full price in doing so, but after this unfortunate experience I cannot recommend the salon because of what I view as questionable business practices.
