Walk in and look up in the rotunda. Breathtaking! This building should probably be something greater than a grocery store. It's almost epic.
Heinen's spent something like $10 million to renovate this long abandoned building into the most impressive grocery store you've ever been to. If it's going to be a grocery store this is how it should be.
The rotunda portion houses the deli, meats, and numerous premade and fresh-made food options. A second floor has the beer, wine, and tasting areas for each. Tables are situated throughout.
Traditional dry goods and freezer foods are in a connected space next to the rotunda area. Aisles are tight but maneuverable with the small carts. Many local brands are offered alongside the store brand.
If you are expecting Marc's prices here you will be disappointed... But if you want Marc's go to Parma or something. There are still good deals to be found with sales. Checkouts are small stations around the periphery but two larger aisles can be found at the Eastern entrance along Euclid.
The parking lot is located at 740 Euclid- about a block West. It's that parking area between Euclid and Prospect with surface lots on each side and a garage in between. 1) park at that lot and get ticket from machine 2)spend $50 and pay 3)take receipt to service desk in grocery store and get ticket stamped 4) go inside garage office and put stamped ticket through machine and receive re-stamped ticket 5) return to car and exit garage with ticket and first 90 minutes free. So driving/parking is a bit of a hassle but it's do-able.
The store seems to be busy throughout the day and doing well. If you are downtown you have to check it out!
