| - Several years ago, I rediscovered the joy of physical media - or more specifically, the gratification of listening to actual albums in full, something that's become lost in a world of present-day streaming services, playlists, and single-song downloads.
Zia offers many things, including books, video games, and various gewgaws that a nerd might scatter about his or her house. But what really drew me to Zia is their extensive music collection. New albums are available, but if you're willing to take the time to look, there are loads of used CDs that can often be found for dirt cheap. What's even better is that all discs have been buffed to look and play as if they're practically brand new! And of course, there's plenty of vinyl to keep fans of the format quite happy - although let's not get into the debate of which one is superior on Yelp.
Whenever I decided to abandon my DVD library after upgrading to BluRay, I took the majority of my discs here. They accepted all of them, offering me either a sum of cash or a slightly more generous credit in their store. Although I'm sure I could have made much more money selling them all individually, it's a good convenience to have when needed. I've done the same whenever I become bored with video game consoles and/or games.
Currently, I don't shop here as regularly as I once did. And their crowd definitely leans more towards the "earthly" types. But every time I do stop by, they all seem like very cool people.
I've been hearing about the death of record scores since the late 90s. And although the market has shrunk significantly over the years, I'm glad that it's still an option for us lovers of great (and not so great) music.
Long live physical media!
