| - Okay, so it sounds like everyone loves fez, it's a nice neighborhood / hip city restaurant that many go to especially on the weekend. Have been to the old fez but never to the new one. So was excited to try it out. Location was amazing, decor, set up and cleanliness was beautiful. Staff was very nice, however I felt that they either were over worked or understaffed the day we got there. Good people, great attitude, just not as attentive as I'd thought they'd be. May be because it's such a laid back / popular place, they kind of let loose. We were a group of 5 and we went for brunch, 2 out of the group shared a burger. I got the Baja breakfast (added chicken to it), my other friend got the golden curry egg scramble, and I can't recall what my fifth friend had. We also ordered feta fries and regular salt and pepper fries and a bottle of champagne and OJ.
I'm only critiquing my good but along the way I'll explain some miss-haps that could have easily been prevented.
Server was polite and nice, we get our food. Mine looked great (Baja breakfast) and my friend who ordered the golden curry scramble got her plate and had a look of confusion on her face. Once the food was all on the table, she asked me "didn't it say "Scramble" on the menu?" The dish she got had 2 fried eggs. No problem, as the gentleman who brought the food was still there we told him and he said "they're supposed to ask how you'd like the eggs" my friend said that no one asked us. Since the new is listed "scrambled" on the menu, it is expected to come out that way j less customer asks to have it differently. Just sayin!!!
Then I noticed my dish didn't have chicken with it and as I was about to say something the gentleman bringing the food set a plate of chicken next to my plate saying that he'd just saw it and apologized.
All was good, food tasted amazing (we were super hungry after a charity walk downtown Phoenix). The fries were very well made and my meal (Baja breakfast) was delicious. Now we're done, and been seated for a while, no one has approached. Our server has. It been seen for a while. We get the attention of another server, ask for our bill and a few minutes our server shows up, with the bill.
So in conclusion, I'll definitely go back, and try other dishes. I love the city vibe there, and the people working there, they just gotta pick it up a little and be more attentive to customers.
