  • Six Pence Pub is an English themed pub. The restaurant has a neat English decor with an English themed menu. For a starter, we ordered an order of Scotch eggs. The menu listed it as "eggs" (plural) and I asked if that meant 2 eggs. The waitress explained that it was served as "sort of like 6 half eggs". The preparation was different than any other Scotch eggs I've tried. They were a bit skimpy on the egg portion (I think it might have been 1 and a half or 2 eggs divided into 6 pieces for serving) but they were generous on the sausage portion of the dish. Despite not being what I expected, they were pretty good. For my meal, I had the Shepherds Pie - which was pretty traditional although it was prepared with beef instead of lamb. It was served with a generous side salad and was quite good. My wife ordered her "go to" dish -- salmon - which was their special when we were there. The salmon "special" was listed as a Bourbon glazed salmon. My wife said the salmon itself was good but it was very skimpy on the Bourbon glaze. The mixed veggies were decent - had a good flavor but were a bit over-cooked. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very personable and was very efficient. She was attentive without being intrusive and timed the dishes well. Six Pence offers a good selection of British and Irish beers as well as a variety of other craft beers. Overall - service was good / food was good / prices were reasonable.
