| - This place is big, loud, and always crowded. There's both inside and outside seating. The menu is vast, with sandwiches, burgers, salads and wings. The beer selection is awesome, and the servers know their beers.
The sandwiches impress people because they're big, so big they're dubbed 'headwiches.' I had a meatloaf headwich; it was very pickly, a strange flavor for meatloaf. The headwiches come with hard, brittle, burnt house-made potato chips. You can't substitute fries (it must throw their kitchen off or something).
The salads are just as big, but they have their own problems, like big, starchy, fried wedges of potatoes ostensibly called fries. They're not fries. They're not crispy, not soggy, and not creamy. They come off like boiled potatoes and just don't work in the salad.
The best accompaniment to the beers are the wings, but be sure to stick with the fried wings and not that awful variation called the 'smoked wing.' Pick your size, pick your sauce. These are some of the biggest wings in Pittsburgh.
