  • OK, so there is something in their plain tart yogurt that is truly addictive. Aloha yogurt is where I first learned to love creamy frozen tart yogurt, and really there is no one else that offers a tastier plain, unsweetened swirl. I mean really . . . how good could a "base" plain old yogurt be, right? But, it is the consistency and flavor of the yogurt that blends so well with their toppings; whether it is fruit or candy or sauce, all pair wonderfully with their yogurt. In addition to a tasty plain offering, the other flavors of yogurt are quite good too. The fruit flavors taste very much like the real thing, and the non-fruit flavors, such as chocolate and peanut butter, are not overly done or too sweet. In addition, the staff have actually put some thought into the daily flavors in each machine that can be swirled together so there is nothing like a banana-mint thing happening (of course if those two are available, then by all means, mix away). Also offered is cold brew coffee made on site. It is truly addictive, it's like liquid crack, seriously, they know what they're doing, how to brew it, what varietal of beans to use and how much roast they should have to make a good cold brew. So if you like coffee at all, it behooves you to take one of their mason jars home full of this concentrated goodness. It is a bit spendy, however, as cold brew is typically mixed at a 5:1 or 7:1 ratio of water or milk or milk replacement, it makes that pint of cold brew worth every penny. And, unlike hot drip coffee, cold brew typically has none of the bitterness or astringency and yet packs the purported health benefits of traditional brew. Plus, you get the same caffeine punch as hot drip coffee, but being concentrated makes it much easier to adjust to your liking; you can easily make it bold or mild by adjusting the ratio of hot water mixed in. Aloha yogurt is also a great place to hang out. On the multiple times I've been there, at various times of day, there have been several people that are just hanging about and socializing, adding to a bit of a coffeehouse-like atmosphere. The owners and staff are friendly and laid-back as well as knowledgeable and help to create a bit of an island atmosphere that makes you want to hang out with friends, relax and stay awhile. So, there you have it, great yogurt and great cold brew all in one stop along with friendly and attentive service as well as a very cool place to just hang out. Aloha yogurt is certainly worth a trip, even if it's a bit out of your way, as they have tasty yogurt, quality toppings, yummy cold brew, friendly service and something to everyone's liking whether it be coffeesque or yogurtesque or socialesque - Mahalo.
