  • I lived in New York for a few years and regularly ate some of the best Indian food on this continent. When I moved back to Toronto last summer, I was initially disappointed with the Indian restaurants downtown... until I tried Trimurti. The staff are an eclectic mix of characters who might put you off with their intensity at first, but really just care about getting it right. My girlfriend and I journey there from High Park every few weeks and enjoy the Butter Chicken (with extra spice) and Saag Paneer (Fresh cheese in stewed spinach). The mango lassi is fantastic, if expensive for the portion. The naan is best in class. The wine prices are quite reasonable - litre of house wine for $23, decent bottles from $25-35. I'll reiterate: Trimurti makes the best Indian food I've had in Toronto. Don't take my word for it - go try it!
