M.D. Pruitt's is a disorganized and unprofessional bargain basement. I found a high quality sofa for 1/3rd the price that it cost at Ashley's Home Furnishings. The two sales people I dealt with were both helpful and didn't pressure me.
But from the moment they had my money - everything went down hill.
When setting up delivery, I was told that I could call two days in advance and would be given a delivery window. If the delivery window wouldn't work, I was assured it would be easy to re-schedule the delivery.
Upon calling two days in advance, I was told that they couldn't give me a window until the day of delivery. But again, they assured me, if I needed to re-schedule I could do so.
On the morning of the delivery, I called for my window. They informed me that the sofa would be delivered promptly at 11. Not earlier, not later. I told the rep that this time wouldn't work for me and she replied "Well we don't have a lot of orders going out today, and they're not going to go out twice." I asked if I could re-schedule and was told that I would be charged a $70 re-scheduling fee.
I agrued with the woman on this for quite a while and ultimately asked if I could cancel my entire order. As soon as I said that - she was suddenly able to waive the $70 fee "just this once."
I was unimpressed by this lazy and rude customer service. But - if I could choose between friendly staff or a sofa for cents on the dollar, I guess I'd chose the cheap sofa...
