  • I had my left eye done 1/7/2012 and my husband had his left eye done yesterday, 1/13/2012. We had it done by two separate surgeons. During consultation and even up to scheduling, I was told that Dr. Rothman would be the one doing it. Which I wanted Dr. Rothman as surgeon since I read his bio online and years of experience he had. On day of surgery, Dr. Rouweyha came in and introduced himself and let me know that he'll be the one doing the lasik. He also went on to say that he'll be the one to see me for 24 hour post op. This was very important to me. Because I know with any type of "procedure", it's always better for the person who did the initial procedure to follow-up with patient. I think it's that first 24 hour period is critical. They explained to me during consultation that all my follow-up visits will be with an Optometrist. I knew this ahead of time but didn't make me feel at ease. Dr. Rothman came out and spoke with my husband the day we had consultation that the Optometrist know what to look for and that they are very thorough. Which I believe him, but still how can you know more than a surgeon who did your surgery? So when I found out that Dr. Rouweyha was doing it and that I would have the 24 hour post op follow-up with him, I was a happy camper. He explained it step by step on what's happening during procedure and what to expect. It was quick. I would have rated 5 stars if staff communicated with me beforehand that there's been a schedule change. And leave it up to the patient to decide whether to reschedule or keep the appointment. I don't think it was fair for me as a patient to be blind sided.
