| - I was a resident at the Corsican Apartments for over a year and feel obligated to write this review so that any future potential tenants know exactly what they are getting into with this place.
My apartment was so cute, open concept, the pool is nice and the grounds are well maintained. It's a smaller complex, I think only 30 or so units which I liked when I moved in. The location couldn't be better. I only had a few maintenance issues while I was there, and they were decent about getting things fixed...
...BUT I digress, this is a 1 Star review so obviously there was something that would lead me to vehemently NOT recommend the Corsican Apartments to certain people based on my experience.
The apartments are older (charming!), and some were remodeled ten+ years ago! The issue is there is absolutely NO insulation between units. I'm not kidding, I can't stress this enough. Insulation is ZERO, read: NO sound barrier at all between you and your neighbors.
My unit was on the lower level, so obviously I got the grunt of it all- I could, no joke, hear my neighbors sneeze. The people above me were a family, a couple with a toddler and a small infant. It was never ending, *constant* little feet running back and forth, back and forth above my head. High chairs scraping across the kitchen floor. I swear sometimes they were play-bowling up there with a real bowling ball, and it usually started at 6am (kids wake up so early!), and continued until 10pm (why yo' kid up so late?!?). Not to mention it's hard to sleep with a baby crying! My neighbor next door must have been in band or something because they practiced daily on what sounded like a flute?... or maybe a recorder? It sounded mostly like instrumentals of old video game themes, think Zelda. Regardless, I NEVER called in complaints because I am A) too nice and B) understand when you live in an old place with no insulation then these things happen. ESPECIALLY in Tempe!**
**the college students weren't so bad, on the 4th of July last year I got a private fireworks show- they lit them in the community recycle bin that lived by the mailbox! I was mad at first because it scared me half to death but next day when the recycle was totally melted to a puddle we got a brand new one!!**
The ultimate purpose of this review though and the reason I felt the need to post is simple though, if you ever:
1. Like music
2. Like talking
3. Like watching TV
4. Have the occasional sniffle
5. Enjoy getting it on
6. Laugh
7. Make ANY noise at all....
... then know that at the Corsican all of your neighbors will hear it ALL, and you better hope your particular neighbors are cool or you WILL get a complaint every other day (even if you are lower level like I was!).
Seriously stay clear- if you are a college student especially, the noise problem will cause you so many issues in your life that you don't need.
Take heed, you have been warned.
