B and I were the first ones in the door at the Distillerie at 4pm on a Monday afternoon, and sat alone at the bar for an hour or so chatting with Ollie, one of the most pleasant and skilled bartenders we've had the pleasure of encountering. It was happy hour, which meant $1.50 off all the drinks, which were reasonably priced to start with, so basically we had no choice but to stay for two rounds! I had a Ziggy Stardust and a P'tit Jouer; B had a Thyme to Dance and a Gingerbread Man. Each one was an experience to remember-- the P'tit Jouer especially, I'm going to be on a mission to try to recreate. The 90s tunes on the radio were great, Ollie was fun, and the whole afternoon was chill as hell-- the free mason jars of goldfish didn't hurt either. I can imagine the place is mobbed anytime that isn't obscenely early on a Monday, so I'm extra grateful we squeezed it in while we were in town, and hopefully we'll be able to hit it up again next time we're there.
