  • Phenomenal. Nobuo brought out taste buds I didn't even knew I had. We had reservations across the street at PB for a large party. It was a 2 to 2.5 hour wait so we decided to stroll across the way to the small pub for a beer. Then decided to pop in to see Nobuo's place that has been on the list for a long time. We didn't have reservations but were able to get a table and order some drinks and a few small plates. The inside is quaint and tranquil. It is a great place for a small intimate meal with a couple or two. Not big enough for a large group but more for a date night. We ordered a couple of beers and a mixed drink. For food we ordered Japanese fries, kimchi, and shiromi carpaccio. The carpaccio came first. Four very elegantly dressed spoons that were perfectly made for one bite. The flavors were amazing and the textures were perfection. Next came the fries. The fries had dried bonito on them and were also ridiculously tasty. The last dish was the kimchi. The plate had cabbage and shrimp and when the waiter brought it he poured a hot sesame oil on top of it that made the plate sizzle and brought out some crazy aromas. The chili oil on the plate was delicious. They brought some bread so we could soak up all those amazing flavors off the plate and none of it went to waste. The bill was expensive but so so worth it. I have found a new favorite place that I can not wait to try again. Next time we are skipping the group pizza party at the 2 hour wait place and making reservations at the Teeter House. Nobuos blew away our expectations. Update: Returned on 3/9/13 My wife and I made reservations after being blown away on our initial visit. We didn't quite get to do the entire menu the first time and could not wait to come back. Our waitress was extremely nice and helpful. She knew the entire menu up and down as well as the specials. The menu changed from our last visit as well. We ordered the Kumachi, Grapefruit & Hamachi, Shiromi Carpaccio, Yellow Tail Ceviche, Sashimi special, Seabass & Mushroom, and the Ox tail special. First we received the kumachi which was a salad with a very nice spicy dressing, then came the sashimi which tasted phenomenal. It came with 8 pieces of fish and fresh wasabi that knocked your socks off. The grapefruit and hamachi came out next. Four spoons of blissful flavors. Next came the yellowtail ceviche which was another 4 spoons of delight. The carpaccio was next. Hot, wonderful, and foccacia bread to clean up the remaining oils. About this point I am all the sudden sad because I realize we only have two dishes left. The seabass and mushroom was done in parchment paper and tasted completely different from anything else. Earthy, savory, very tasty. Last came the ox tail special. Hands down the best dish out of all of them. It really tasted like it was from an entire different restaurant. I loved every single bite and every single component of this dish. Everything was executed masterfully but this was just ridiculous. Chef Nobuo's flavor range is off the chart. I felt like we went from Japanese food with the kumachi, and sashimi to a twist of Mexican with the yellow tail ceviche, then to North American with the seabass and mushrooms, and then to heaven with the ox tail stew. It was a flavor journey that I never wanted to end. We finished with the green tea and chocolate dessert. I can't think of a better meal in my entire life. Taste bud HEAVEN. Thank you Chef Nobuo! I rank them in this ascending order: Green tea ice cream Kumachi Sashimi Carpaccio Seabass Grapefruit and Hamachi Yellowtail Ceviche Ox tail special I can't wait to go for lunch...THIS ladies and gentlemen is how it is done.
