| - The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars and not 1 is because the end product of my hair turned out pretty well. Getting there, however - not so much.
First, I sat down and explained what I wanted. I told her that my hair is naturally red and I wanted to keep it red but just go darker. She then argued with me that my hair ~can't~ be naturally red based on my roots. I felt ridiculous having to argue my hair color. I've seen my hair for 30 some years - you've seen my hair for 2 minutes. I think I may know what color my own hair is.
Secondly, I wanted to go deep red. She argued with me about that and said I should go brown. And not in a friendly way either - just plain rude. Finally I explained that I'm paying a lot of money for this and I want the red color.
It wasn't bad enough that her face was inches away from mine but in the course of my 4 hour appointment (Yes, you heard me....it took 4 hours) she took at least 5 smoke breaks.
While I was getting shampooed another stylist came back and told my stylist that someone was here to get their hair cut but they weren't on the books. My stylist said it's fine, they were friends and she would squeeze them in. I sat there while she did FOUR other hair cuts for her friends (who didn't even have an appointment!). Meanwhile her friends 3 kids spun in the chairs around me, ran all around the salon, bumped my chair - I understand that kids will be kids as I have 4 of my own, but she said NOTHING to them the entire time about their behavior.
She jabbed me in the face and the ears about 20 times with her ridiculous nails. She brushed my ears countless times, yanked my earrings a few more times and then while applying the highlights she used my face to lay the foil against and apply the chemical. Those chemicals were AGAINST my eyes. She was not careful or gentle in ANYTHING she did. I left the salon with the a HUGE head ache.
Then during my cut I told her NOT to layer my hair. If you layer the top of my hair it gets curlier than the rest of my hair because it's not weighed down and the textures don't match. At this point, you won't be surprised to learn that she failed to listen to me and I now have the exact problem I told her I would have.
Then, to top everything off - when I was checking out the cashier asked me, ~OUT LOUD~ how much I wanted to tip her. My stylist was standing right there. I felt that was so rude and uncalled for.
This experience was, by far, the worst I have ever had in a salon.
Needless to say I will not be going back there again and I will not be referring anyone.
