My boyfriend and I went to Modern Steakhouse during Big Taste YYC 2017 and the food was great! The appetizer, prawn bong, was interesting and the prawn was cooked to perfection! In regards to the Brant Lake Wagyu entree, while the steak was wonderful, it did not meet my expectations. To really get a good idea on the quality of Modern's steak, it would be better to go another time. The frites, however, were crispy and delicious as always!
Lastly, the dessert was phenomenal! It was a chocolate mousse cake that was rich and decadent, but not overly sweet. I really hope that it will be on their dessert menu as a regular!
