  • Spent New Year's Eve 2013 playing at the casinos along the Freemont Experience including Mermaid's Casino. I visit Las Vegas about 4-5 times a year, usually for concerts including the Jan. 30, 2013 Fleetwood Mac concert, and made sure to make my usual visit to Mermaid's. Love the service, drinks, and overall experience at Mermaid's. The only casino I know of in which ALL machines give COINS and not redemption tickets. How do I walk out of Mermaids with more money than I put into the machines? I can cash out the coins each time I win and put it aside. Can't do that with redemption tickets! Rumor has it that owner, Steve Burnstine, wants to change from COIN machines to REDEMPTION TICKET machines!!! PLEASE, Steve, DON'T CHANGE the COIN MACHINES! When you visit Mermaid's, ask for Beeza or Betty, two very lovely cocktail servers, both of whom are very attentive and keep the drinks coming.
