  • Overall, Chowdy was alright. I have the same pros and cons as the others who have reviewed. Meals were ok, some were definitely more tasty than others. I got really tired of carrots/parsnips all the time, but that's a matter of taste. I found the descriptions weren't always 100% accurate, which is fair - if you planned on having broccoli on hand and had to change it to something else, so be it. But if I'm a broccoli fan and end up with a veggie I don't like, it kind of takes away the veggie component of my meal and now I'm just left with carbs and protein. I agree with the veggie meals being substantially carb based, which is why I'd rarely order them. Easy process of setting up an account and picking meals. $16 a week was getting to be a bit steep to deliver, but yes - I could have picked Monday delivery only and had all my meals delivered on one day (but wouldn't receive the variety). It is what it is. You have to pay for a service, so that's fair. If you are looking for macros/calorie counts, I found them to be pretty inaccurate. And as someone who needed those counts to be at least somewhat accurate, it was a bit frustrating. Sometimes the counts were never posted at all. I got a co-worker hooked on Chowdy and so I still continue to see his meals come in and they look good and he's still enjoying them for the most part. Though there's been some sort of kitchen glitch at Chowdy the past week, so my coworker hasn't received two of his meal drops now. It's still one of the most, if not the most, affordable food services out there that has a wide delivery area if you need delivery. The portions are sizable so you're definitely getting your bang for the buck. But I eventually cancelled because I needed to be a bit more in control of my meals for the week. I'd say try it out and see for yourself.
