OK...acting on a recommendation from a great foodie partner....had to try Malabar today! First the location and ambience was great. I like the decor of traditional mixed with art deco. The full wall of mirrors makes the restaurant look very large. So...the lunch menu offered great appetizers, tapas, sandwiches and more. Appetizer was eggplant bruschetta. Very good. Followed by a great salad of mixed greens...that included a goat cheese croquette...yummy! The small basket of bread with side of EVOO was a nice touch. The chicken croquettes served on a small plate with a nice sauce was very good. The chicken empanadas were just so good. You could see and taste the red peppers as you bit into them. Service was amazing for someone that had just started that day! Very impressed. Looking forward to a return visit at night when the restaurant will be full of people!!!
