We tagged along with a couple of friends to Toronto for a long weekend and they had chosen the Hotel Victoria so we made a reservation to keep close to them as well as the downtown action we were looking for. The front desk was very easy to deal with on the phone and our reservation for an upgraded single queen room took no more than a few minutes. Big plus for me right there.
Small room but reasonably well appointed including a flat screen TV, bed with good sheets and a smallish but decent bathroom. The room was 85+ deg when we came in but the conditioner took care of that while we went out to dinner. No big deal. The TV came with AppleTV which was an awesome perk because we got free access to Netflix on the TV. So much better than browsing what was on cable and we got to watch some Fawlty Towers in between the action around town. Best addition ever!
Location is very convenient to the subway and within reasonable walking distance to Rogers Centre, CN Tower, and the main Chinatown area. Parking is a bit of a hassle with a 5 min walk to their recommended parking garage but the prices there are very reasonable for in the city at $14 for a full day and they offer credit card payment. Not bad.
All in all this was a pretty good option for short notice and at decent prices for a downtown hotel.
