  • Do NOT ever take a machine into this place for repair! First, they tell you it'll take 5 days when they know it won't.....and you call in 5 days and they tell you "another week"....suddenly you realize a month has gone by and you still are told "another week". Ok, that is annoying enough, but then you get the machine back and NOTHING has been done on it....as in not only does the weird clunking sound still happen, but the FABRIC LINT that was in the bobbin area is STILL THERE. I live literally blocks away from this place so I stupidly kept taking my machine there, until a dear dear friend told me about Kings Sewing at 32nd St and Thunderbird. Heavens to Betsy why did I waste so much time at 35th Avenue.....one trip to Kings and Jason fixed the clunk, cleaned all the fuzz out and it only took 2 days (his estimate was 3-5 days, and THEY called me to tell me it was ready before his estimate). Cost was cheaper too. Oh...and then last week I'm in the middle of making a dress for my daughter to wear on Saturday and the feed dogs gorged on the fabric....in trying to pull it out I messed up the bobbin timing and now it doesn't sew! Oh Heavens no! I call Jason and he says bring it in and he'll see what he can do.....and he fixes it WHILE I WAIT (ok, perhaps because I was near tears with only two days left to finish!!). At 35th Ave it would have been her NEXT birthday before I could finish that dress....instead with Jason's rescue I finished the dress in time and she loved her new dress! 35th is nice for fabric selection....but their service at the cutting counter and the cash register are horrible....and their prices nothing to write home about and sales happen once in a blue moon. Instead, while you are over at Kings, stop by Quiltz which is kitty korner at 32nd and Thunderbird. Great ladies, great selection, and constant sales with a color of the month or a "we feel like having a sale so 20% off everything" sale!! (be sure to get on their mailing list to learn about all these specials). So...I drive 15 miles to Quiltz and Kings instead of a couple blocks to 35th Avenue....because service matters to me.
