  • Shortly after writing my last review, I noticed that some positive changes had been made at the gym, such as fixed equipment and a more reasonable thermostat setting. I decided to stick it out because the gym is rarely crowded and $10/mo is affordable. Yesterday I received an email out the blue that the $10 rate would no longer be available and our rates would increase to $15/mo in just 10 days. There was no explanation for the increased cost, just a line saying it was probably less than we pay for a cup of coffee. I called and found out I would have to cancel my membership in person or send a certified mail letter to give 30 days notice before the cancellation would take place. They also implied that the rate increase would apply to those in contract as well, not just month to month clients. On top of everything else, repairs seems to have fallen to wayside once again and this increase in rate seems to be intentionally coming into effect when most ASU students will be leaving for break (and therefore unable to cancel in person). I cancelled my membership today and would caution others against joining a gym that is so unprofessionally run.
