I lived in Cleveland Heights for a little over the year, and the Cleveland Heights Police Department is one of the reasons I decided to leave. They're more concerned with being meter maids than actually preventing crime. I lived off of Hampshire which had all too frequent muggings but never seemed to have adequate patrolling. For the amount of money paid in city taxes and the amount of revenue that the police department acquires through tickets, you'd expect to feel a sense of security, but I always felt unsafe. Cleveland Hts is on the decline, and I feel their policing priorities being directed towards the wrong areas is one of the reasons why.
