  • My husband and I have a date night each week and when it came time for my week to plan our date night, I wanted to do something we've both never done before and thought painting would be such a great idea. I saw the Groupon for Cajun Canvas as well as a few other wine and paint businesses and once I read the reviews on Yelp and visited the Cajun Canvas website, I was sold! My husband is originally from Louisiana, so I figured he would love this since the owners are from there too. We had dinner down the street at Jim and Nick's (something casual) and once we pulled up, my husband still had no idea what we were doing for our date night event. As we walked up, he figured it out and was pretty shocked (in a good way). We were greeted by Karen, the owner and were told we were the only clients for the night. And boy, what a night! Our featured painting was the Fleur de Lis, which my husband is quite fond of and this was the icing on the cake for him! Karen was so personable, helpful and patient as my husband or I are in no way pros at drawing or painting lol. She helped us patiently draw the outline, suggested painting techniques and unique color palettes. By the end, we felt more like family and she even gifted us one of her paint creations as my husband was willing to purchase one of them. We will definitely be back and are currently in the process of having Karen come onsite to do a paint activity at our church. We're so happy we met Karen and had a chance to get to know her as well as design our personal artistic creation. We definitely recommend anyone to come out and enjoy themselves as this was definitely a great way to relax and express ourselves through art. You can bring your own beverages (anything except liquor) and snacks as well as your vivid imagination!
