YELP 300 Challenge: Review #190 in 2017
A nice hotel ruined by awful food. I stayed here on the last Vegas excursion. It's amazing how much this town has grown over the past decade, does anyone else remember when the land under the casino use to be vacant open lot? Or when staying this far off
the strip wasn't even considered Vegas?
The hotel seems to be where the locals congregate, the poker room is full of professional gambler types from the area. The room itself is an open area located in the far back corner of the casino. I was not thrilled about the comp rate for poker players, it requires different players card at a lower comp rate.
One of the major obstacle South Point has to overcome is the terrible food served. The cafe, the buffet, and room service were all disappointing. To me it seems like a combination of lower quality ingredients, lack of available choices, bad purchasers and cheap owners.
This pressing issue is holding the Hotel back.
