  • I don't know where to begin. I went through hell. Not the over exaggerated hell, real hell. In August of 2016 I had an undiagnosed and undetected strep infection- But, It never infected my throat!.. instead, it set up camp in my left breast implant pocket. I woke up on schedule to get ready for work, and noticed that I had some tenderness in my left breast. Writing it off to a bad sleep position, I continued to get ready.Within 30 minutes of arriving to work,the pain steadily increased. I tried to fight through it, but I ended up collapsing in excruciating pain and was rushed to the emergency room. My heart rate was exceeding 135bpm, my blood pressure dropped extremely low and I was dripping sweat, while shivering in pain. My white blood cell count was 44,000. My previous surgeon had immediate concern in his face as he explained that he's never seen a white blood cell count that high. He said it was astronomical for someone like me. I was dying of septic shock. And I never even heard of it. I ended up in emergency surgery to remove my implant and all of the infected remaining breast tissue. Then, I was moved into ICU for 5 days, fighting for my life. Following that, I spent months trying to recover. I had reconstructive surgery after reconstructive surgery. With no avail, I was giving up hope. I was a young Las Vegas cocktail waitress that couldn't wear her uniform or hold her tray. My story even went internationally viral in the news. The whole world knew I was incomplete. I was emotionally broken.. Until... I was referred to Dr. Hankins from a dear friend. My consultation with him was like no other consultation I've ever had. He is one of the most compassionate doctors I've ever met in my life. He didn't even quote me a price at my consultation, until I was able to provide him with more information to help him build a good surgical plan to help me. We met 3 times to figure out a good game plan to fix me once and for all. That brings me to today. I'm 7 days post op. Dr. Hankins not only helped me aesthetically, but he was able to let me release the emotional damage I've had for the last 20 months. I finally feel like my old self again. There are really no words to thank someone like him. He changed my life. I Highly recommend him for EXTREMELY difficult reconstruction/mastectomy cases. You will not be disappointed.
