This facility tries their damnedest to get these dogs out of there. They are currently at max capacity and literally have NO WHERE to put the plethora of dogs that are coming in. The summer is the WORST time of year for them and they overflow with dogs, and are forced to euthanize some of them because they literally have no space.
A large portion of these dogs are found as stray dogs- when a dog (or cat) is found they must keep the animal in the kennel for 3 days starting the day after intake. They do this, well, number 1 because it's required by law, and number 2 so if an owner is looking for their dog they have an opportunity to find it!!!!! Those people saying that there were stray dogs that weren't up for adoption, there's the reason. Wouldn't you want to be given a few days before they put your dog up for adoption?!?!?
It's up to the public to adopt, or foster a dog! This is the only thing that will help change things. Don't like what you see??? DO SOMETHING! Adopt. Foster. Volunteer. It saves lives.
