| - After reading several good reviews on Yelp, I decided this was the place I was going to go. It was right down the road from where I worked, so the location was fine. I called to see if they could fix the problem with my phone, the guy said they could and he took down my information and said they'd call me when the part arrived. Easy enough, right? Well, I ended up calling them back a few minutes later because I felt like the guy I had talked to on the phone hadn't asked me a whole lot about the problem and I wanted to make sure they were going to order the right part. He assured me he ordered the right part. One week later, I called to see if the part for my phone had come in. It had. I was a bit frustrated that they hadn't called me, but at least the part was in. There wasn't enough time that day to take my phone in, so I took it in the next day. I gave them my phone and he took a look at it. After a few moments he told me they ordered the wrong part since I had called over the phone and they were not able to take a look at it in person. So, my fault. Apparently what I needed was a new LCD screen, and they had ordered something different. So the guy put in another order for the correct part and was given the option to leave my phone there until the part came (one week) so they could get it done as soon as it came in, or I could take it with me and bring it back in whenever the part arrived. I chose to take my phone with me since I have some sort of separation anxiety and I could still see half the screen, so it was still of some use, although a pain. Another week passed and I called them to see if the part arrived. Again, it had. And again, I received no call about it's arrival. I asked them if I took it in that day if they'd be able to have it done. They told me no, but said that if I bring it in first thing tomorrow it should be done that day. So that's what I did. I was the first one there the next day. I was told that my phone would only take a couple hours to repair and I should expect a call that day. Finally, my phone was going to get fixed. They closed at four that day, and time was running about before they closed and I still hadn't received a phone call. I called around 3:15 on my way to work to see what the status was. I just figured they had forgotten to call me again. I was told the wrong part was ordered, again. This time, they blamed it on the supplier. And claimed that it was not Inspect-Ur-Gadget's fault. I would have to wait another week for the supposedly correct part to come in this time. So what do I do? I wait another week. At this point, I'm starting to get really frustrated. And I'm not one to complain or make a big fuss about anything, but I was really getting irritated. I decided to wait a couple extra days, just in case they were actually going to call me this time, but they don't. When I called a week and a half later, I was told they were still trying to work things out with the supplier to get the right part shipped in. I told him this was getting ridiculous and it had been a month since I originally contacted them to fix my phone. I asked him when I was going to have an answer on whether or not they could fix my phone. And he gave me a date (about four days or so). The four days passed by, and I refused to call. I ended up waiting another week and a half until finally they called me. The first phone call I received from them. I was told my phone was finally fixed. So the same day I went in to pick it up. I asked them if there was anything they could do for me since it took them over a month to fix my phone, and the best they could do was 10% off ($8). Seriously? Eight bucks? But I wasn't going to complain. I was done dealing with them, and eight bucks was better than nothing. I finally got my phone back and was on my way.
I will NOT be doing business with them again. Nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. I was very, very disappointed. In fact, they are the main reason I decided to make a Yelp account, just so I could let others know about my experience and maybe they will be able to save some time and money.
