| - I absolutely LOVE octopus, especially any kind of grilled octopus. So I am always on the look out for restaurants in Montreal that dare to tackle it. Ferreira's crispy octopus appetizer didn't disappoint. It was so incredibly tender and flavorful. I also had the seafood bouillabaisse which was delicious - or rather, the broth was incredible. The fish and seafood itself was good, but I think the fresh whole fish options would have been the better bet if you are really craving a dish that highlights the fish. I had the chocolate mousse as my dessert. Just as a heads up, the menu for the desserts does not at all do a good job describing what you are getting. I had expected a simple, but intense, mousse. Instead, it was a very complex plate with mousse, ganache, candied preserved lemon, meringue, lemon custurds, a sorbet, and other delights. Absolutely amazing. I will say, that my family ordered the creme brule and the salted caramel, and while they enjoyed it, everyone agreed that the chocolate dish was the star. Overall, it is clear that the restaurant takes great care in its ingredients - many ingredients are flown in from Portugal several times a week. I would definitely recommend it - if you are okay with the price point which is fairly high, but considering the quality it does make sense. Make sure you book ahead, as it fills up very quickly.
