I came across Yaks Fitness when I was looking for a gym in my neighborhood once I found out I was moving back to Las Vegas. I called and talked to Shelly to get some basic info while still in Seattle and she was very friendly and gave me a break down on the different memberships they offer. Once I arrived in Las Vegas one of the first things I did was head to Yaks Fitness to get signed up and work out, this was on a Sunday morning and it wasn't very crowded compared to the corporate place I checked out up the street and promptly left. Clyde gave me my tour and got me signed up for my membership. I talked to one of the members while getting signed up and said that it was a normal crowd for a Sunday morning and that you rarely have to wait for equipment even during the busier times of the day. All the equipment is new and in great shape with a nice variety to appeal to everyone. I also noticed everyone wiping down the benches/machines after they used them and re-racking all their weights.
Came back in on a Tuesday after work for my second visit and upon walking in both Chris and Shelly came up and introduced themselves to me and welcomed me to their gym. Even during the evening I never had to wait to use any of the equipment. Have been back a few more times since then and it has never been too crowded where you can't use the equipment you need to.
This is a great locally owned gym with nice owners that I glad I found.
