| - The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is strictly because of the desserts which are incredible. We had the red velvet cupcake, lemon cake, and tiramisu all of which are vegan and delicious and very hard to believe they are "low in calories". Now for the bad, our lunch. My mom and I each ordered a taco salad without any meat, real or vegan. The thing had tons of rice, very few black beans, a small bit of cheese and avocado and was served with salsa. I had to ask for a lot of extra salsa because it was so bland. When the server came over to bring the salsa, I mentioned to him that we both had the salad without any meat and still had to pay the full $11.95 (completely outrageous for the quality). I asked if we could have some extra avocado to make up for it. He immediately got an attitude explaining that "everyone tries to modify the food here, so we absolutely won't do any modifications!" He then added that we could of course "order" some extra avocado for $1. Of course $1 isn't a big deal, but that is also why he could've just given it to us, his attitude was a huge factor in our dining experience. My 4y/o who was sleeping at the time we ordered, woke up and was hungry. They do not have a kids menu and the guy behind the counter said people usually order mac/cheese or the pizzettas for kids. Each of which were $9. I ordered the vegan pizzetta for him and hoped for the best. It took forever to make and there weren't many other people in the restaurant. My son was seriously crying because it was taking so long. It came out and looked ok. Too bad I tasted it and it was awful. I am shocked to hear people rave about the vegan cheese here because it was really horrible and slimy. My mom also tried it and said the same thing. My poor hungry son barely would eat one piece. I was too afraid to send it back after the attitude the waiter gave us. Oh, I should also mention that it comes with a very plain green salad-only greens and vinaigrette. Really, how many 4y/o would eat that? You would think they could at least have given him some baked fries or chips, but remember, absolutely no modifications here! By the time we ordered dessert, we got a new server (not sure if the snotty one didn't want to deal with us or what) the new server (I wish I knew his name) was Hispanic and wonderful, so sweet and nice, Thank-God. We ordered the delicious desserts from him and even ordered 2 to go. Even though the desserts were decent sized, they still seemed over-priced. Our dessert bill was $30! I should also mention our gross lunch bill was $44 including a tip. So, we spent about $75 which just seems completely outrageous, could have had a fancy dinner out for that. I would NEVER come back here for the food, but would get the desserts to go again sometime.
