Five old guys went in at about 8pm on a Friday night. It was very crowded so the host seated us in a back room. The dimly lit room was filled with booths and it was dark enought that all of our 50+ year old eyes needed a candle or flashlight to read the menu. One guy even tripped over a hidden step that was sticking out from a sofa. Yes we laughed and made fun of him. The place has a bit of a dive bar feel. Just what I like. The music selection was excellent, deep cuts both modern and old. Loud enough to listen too but still hold a conversation. In this back room it was bar service only meaning we had no waitstaff. The people behind the bar were talkative, friendly, entertaining and very efficient. The menu is filled with a number of exotic pasty fillings, unlike the ground burger ketchup and potato mixture mom used to make. Nope, this is the real deal and ranges from chicken pot pie to salmon. The food was excellent, the beers were big, local and cold. My only complaint is that the back room temperature was hotter than hell. Overall a very good experience.
